Can mainland residents apply for residency when opening a company?
Mainland enterprises setting up a new company in Hong Kong and needing Mainland management and professional personnel to come to Hong Kong to assist in their business can apply through the Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals. The following documents you will need to provide to prove the need to import Mainland talents as advance recruits to assist Hong Kong companies in conducting business:
- Business Development Plan: Provide a specific business plan that explains the Hong Kong company’s business objectives, market analysis, competitive advantages and expected development, etc. This will help show your business’s contribution to the Hong Kong economy and potential employment opportunities.
- Company registration documents: Provide the registration documents of the Hong Kong company, including the certificate of incorporation, shareholder structure and articles of association, etc.
- Company performance reports (if applicable): If your company has been in operation for some time and has relevant performance reports or financial data, these documents can be provided to demonstrate the strength and achievements of the company’s business.
- Employer’s information: Provide relevant information of the Mainland enterprise, including business registration certificate, business registration certificate and company profile, etc.
These documents will help to demonstrate the contribution and demand of your business plan to Hong Kong, and that the hired person meets the eligibility criteria of the ASMTP. Please note that the specific document requirements and approval criteria may vary from case to case, and it is recommended to check with the Hong Kong Immigration Department for the latest requirements at the time of application.
