Key points about SME Export Marketing Fund (EMF) funding:
Funding cap: EMF is currently capped at a maximum of HK$1 million. Enterprises can receive 50% of the cost of the relevant promotion activities or the lower of HK$100,000.
Eligibility: EMF is mainly for small and medium-sized enterprises, and enterprises that meet the following requirements can apply:
– Registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310) and meeting the standards for unlisted enterprises set by the Government.
– Have substantial business operations in Hong Kong.
– The applicant should not be affiliated with the promotional activities, organisers, co-organisers, service providers or related companies involved in the application.
Cumulative funding limit: If the enterprise has previously received funding from the Fund, the cumulative amount of funding received cannot exceed the cumulative funding limit set by the Fund. In addition, enterprises with similar business registration information (e.g. nature of business, address, contact number, shareholders/directors) will be regarded as affiliated enterprises. For the purpose of calculating the cumulative funding ceiling, these affiliates will be treated as a single enterprise, and the cumulative funding amount received by them will be calculated together and shall not exceed the cumulative funding ceiling.
